Google Business Profile connection

When enabled and authorized by the salon owner or an authorized manager, our website connection retrieves information from the salon’s Google Business Profile so visitors can see Google review highlights and opening hours. Visitors do not need to connect their own Google accounts to browse the public website.

• Business information: account and location identifiers used to select the salon listing, regular opening hours, special hours, and open or closed status.
• Review information: Google review responses can include review identifiers, review text, star ratings, creation and update dates, reviewer display names, reviewer profile-picture links, and business replies. We also retrieve the overall rating and review count. Media links are used only when supplied by Google.
• Authorization information: the connection uses an OAuth client and authorization tokens to retrieve the approved business information without asking the owner to enter a Google password on our website.

The website retrieves and temporarily caches review responses, then selects recent five-star reviews with written comments for the featured carousel. That selection is not a complete list of reviews. The overall rating and total review count represent the Google listing, rather than just the featured reviews. Names, review text, dates, ratings and available reviewer images may be shown publicly. Links to Google let visitors view the original listing and other reviews.

The current integration reads reviews and hours. It does not post reviews, reply to reviews, change the Google listing, or read Gmail messages, contacts or private Drive files. Google may describe the authorization permission more broadly than these website functions.

Google information is used to provide these website features and maintain their operation. We do not sell Google user data or use it for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or training general-purpose AI models. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable.

Photos, enquiries and applications

Authorized salon users can upload gallery images, before-and-after photos, staff photos, captions, service categories and promotional information. Images marked for public display can be viewed by website visitors. Please obtain permission from identifiable people before publishing their photos. Contact us if you want a photo of yourself reviewed or removed.

If you contact the salon, we receive the contact details and information you choose to provide so we can respond. Job applications use the application form linked from our careers page; information submitted through that form is used to consider applications and contact applicants. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.

Storage, sharing and security

Cloudflare hosts the website and supports its database, image storage and access controls. Google supplies Business Profile information and may host linked forms, maps, reviewer images or embedded YouTube videos. These providers process information needed to supply their services, and processing may occur outside Canada. Following an external link or loading an embedded service is also subject to that provider’s privacy practices.

The Google connection keeps authorization credentials on the server rather than placing them in public webpage code. Protected administration uses sign-in and owner/staff access checks. Website and security providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs for delivery, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and browser storage support sign-in, approved-device access, saved preferences and music playback state. Clearing browser data may remove those settings or require a device to be approved again. Embedded YouTube playback may involve Google cookies or storage.

Google review and hours responses are cached to reduce repeated requests. The current code refreshes reviews when a request finds the cache older than seven days, and hours when older than one hour; configured scheduled updates may refresh them sooner. Successful refreshes replace the saved responses. These are refresh thresholds, not automatic deletion deadlines: a saved copy can remain until it is replaced or deleted, including if the connection is disabled.

Uploaded photos and website content remain until an authorized user removes them. Enquiries and applications are kept as needed to handle their purpose and any applicable obligations. Provider logs and backups may have separate retention periods. Access is limited to authorized people and providers supporting the service, with disclosure where required by law.

Your choices and removal requests

The Google account holder can revoke this connection through Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized retrieval; it does not automatically erase previously cached information. The salon administrator can remove the stored credentials and cached data from the website’s hosting account.

To request access, correction or deletion of information held by the salon, including a displayed image or cached review, contact us below and identify the information concerned. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. Removing a copy from our website does not delete the original Google review; you can manage your own review through Google. Changes on Google may take time to appear on this website.
